Professional Overview:

Danielle has over 20 years of professional business development and economic development experience

with both public and private sector employers. She brings a wealth of land development, redevelopment

and industrial expertise, notably in specialty manufacturing including life sciences, defense and heavy

industry to include rail served industrial. Ruiz brings nearly 11 years of electric utility experience, a

unique attribute to support investments in Florida.


Danielle has a keen ability to connect with each person she meets and establish lasting relationships

which is at her core. Leveraging governmental, electric utility and private industry connections allows

her to engage on behalf of her clients’ needs for shared success.


Ruiz is a graduate of Clemson University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business

Management, with a focus on International Business. She received her Master Practitioner Certificate

through the Advanced Economic Development Leadership program, is a 40 under 40 award winner

through Development Counsellors International (DCI) and received the 2020 North America’s Top 50

Economic Developers designation through Consultant Connect. Ruiz is also a recipient of the James B.

Duke Award and Andrew Hines Excellence Award, coveted awards within Duke Energy for

transformational projects.


Danielle serves on several economic development and industry boards throughout the state. She resides

in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and two children, a son and daughter.
